Sometimes it will get to 47% and hang. In neither case does the buffer show anything. What is funny, is that the machine will burn a data CD just fine. It is only when I try to burn audio that it will hang up. I haven't been able to resolve this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled NERO and still have the problem.

Problem burning with Nero 6 - would Nero 7 do better?

I upgraded from Nero 6 to Nero 7 but the problem I get from Nero 7 is similar to the problem I got with Nero 6. I get a non responsive message then go to Task Manager and have to close the program. I have installed Nero 7 with no problem at all. It could be fault on Nero's part. Try to install Nero on other OS. If that will not succeed then ask Nero AG for a new CD with new Key.
